Hi,

2 Days before i brought a new Tata Indicom USB Modem.I installed all the drivers from the CD.While selecting the 'Connect' button from the menu following error is occuring always.

'TATA Indicom Dialer.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.'

Many times i re installed the USB Drivers and restarted the system. Is it problem with Windows? I am using Windows XP SP2.Shall i re install the windows?

Please help me.

Regards,

Sanjith

1.Check whether you are using the correct dialer.
2. Another suggestion: Uninstall all drivers.
remove the plug in.
3. Insert Cd and download drivers to say C:/surf tata.
a. Connect the Tata modem and restart computer.
b. Let Windows detect new hardware and ask for the drivers.
follow usual procedure.

Update : USB modem ( TataSurf) correctly installed. Dialer problem.
Sorry. I do not check this forum regularly.
There are five dialers given for 32 bit, 64 bit, surf wiz etc. Have you selected the correct one ?

Suggestion 1 Can you try WANminiport Dialer instead of Indicom dialer ?
Start All programs/Accessories/Communications, Network connection Wizard.
2.Can you post ipconfig/all ?. Start/RUN type cmd type ipconfig/all.
3.confirmed your OS. XP Sp2 or Vista.
5. Please send PM to alert me, but post your comments in
this forum, for help from others too.

I had experienced similar issues in the past.If you're a tweaker like me, then maybe you've disabled certain services from the control panel. If so, re-enable all the services, check your firewall settings, and basically set everything back to "microsoft-recommended" i.e. default. Then re-boot and re-install your driver, dialer etc.Let me know what happens.
