Slow speed only in night unlimited period at Kolkata

are you talking about normal downloading or torrent downloading?? do you face disconnections

Weird guysI had error 678 recently and after that I am only getting about 50KBps in uTorrent during happy hours, but during day time the speed improves to some extent!!!!What the hell is really happening?????
 
u guys r getting really slow speeds. guess am very lucky. i get some 250-260kBps wen i download frm RS premium during both day and night 😛and btw am frm kerala

BSNL has increased contention ratio to 1:50 that means a 2mbps line is shared with 50people so this problem will occur

There has been considerable packet loss/latency/slow speeds in the 2am-4am ish period in Kolkata.
Since the bandwidth is "shared", the situation will only get worse with time.

But in my case I was gettin' fine speed before that cursed Error 678 occured and during the normal time the speed is just fine. The trouble only occurs during happy hours. :huh:

Does it mean that BSNL squeezing bandwidth? :madness: 😡
 

hi i m also from south Kolkata and facing the same problem.During daytime i normally get a link-removed download speed of 130-150 kbps but at night (2am to 8am) it falls down to 7-15 kbps(download speed).Not only that, the link of my modem(type-1) also goes out quite frequently.I made several complains to bsnl office and evrytime they assure me that the problem will be resolved.till date nothing has been resolved.I am sick & tired of Bsnl.and don't know what to do now........
 
in my city i m getting 160-170kb/sec speed in torrents and 100-110kb/sec in link-removed.:thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb:
 
Seems to be a lot better now, getting speeds of anywhere between 150-300 KB/s on vuze. This is implies a bandwidth of 150*1024-300*1024 i.e. 1.5-3MBps. Torrent/P2P speeds fluctuate a lot everywhere in the world since it obviously depends on the file's availability. You will never get amazing speeds or reliability from rapidshares so don't use them unless an equivalent torrent is unavailable.
 
There is a way to check the Torrent speed and hence the connection speed. Just try to download any torrent which is well seeded like a Ubuntu or FC linux distro release. This will tell what exactly are you getting.
 
Still suffering severely.... download is only about 2GB in the whole 6 hours... :frown: :S 🙁 😢
 
Hiii I m also getting low ping in night (h1000) I get low speed in downloading from website When i play games at 6 : 00 am,,,my ping goes over 1000 ...and it would average aruond 1200 in morning But i m getting regular speed in torrent downloading
 
same for me also.... speed getting really sick after 2 A.M and it generally continues upto 4 A.M.... its happening for the past 1 month... i am from south kolkata (jadavpur) under Ranikuthi Exchange...Made several complains but of no use... with u torrent speed is max 40kb/sec and with flashget its hardly 70kb/sec... i am under HOME 500 plan... what to do.... plzz give some idea.... wud switching to UL plan do some better ??? my present plan is hardly downloading 2GB in 6 hours... its getting sick evryday... tried with well seeded torrents but the case is same anywayzz... 😡

but one of my friend from Ranikuti exchange getting 180-220KBps on utorrent he reported to me yesterday.He is under 500C
