so anyone here has any idea if the above thing is legit? i mean xda probably outsourced this subdomain on their website to a third party service managing these deals. looks unreal.
 
i mean the regular lifetime license is applicable to a single machine outside this deal as well from my understanding.

This is what you are being sold. It only gets security updates from what I know. Many features are reserved only for 365. If you don't care about those and only interested in the usual/basic functionality, this should be the ideal deal.
 
yeah web based features are mostly restricted to 365. like the designer panel in powerpoints iirc which can be very useful. but most people prefer getting a lifetime version. if i had no use for cloud storage, i would not be paying for 365.
