hello people,i am goin for a new tel connection + triband thing. few questions popped up:1. Do i need to pay any draft or anythin to get the new tel phone line like i have to pay 3000 Rs as some deposit or does it come in the monthly bill.2. I am optin for 590 NU. i need to know what exact bill u guys get, excluding the telephone charges, i am talkin charges for just the broadband usage. without any router charges. I think i will go for my own cpe option.3. if i apply today, when will it get installed at my place....i mean how soon.4. Will there be a problem if i went for some other dsl modem otherthan the ones mentioned at their website. like what if the guy who does the config part just throws up his hand and says i dunno how to configure on this model. 🙄 thanks in advance. 🙂
 
1:- You have to pay Rs 300 for Installation and testing chargesInitial Deposit for DSL CPE one-time- 500(with tele. bill - Non-refundable)Monthly rent for the modem-- Rs 80.The Total installation charges comes upto rs 800 with service tax etc. This is only one time. 2:- The plans have now changed and the plan you have mentioned DSL 590NU has changed to 599NU with 1GB limit. The others things you can ask with NU people3:- First of all it depends upon the telephone exchange how faster they are in their work and you know how Mtnl people work . Normally it takes around 1 week.4:- The Mtnl people will provide you only the modem which is in the list. Mostly you get DSL 502-T modem.
 
thanks, krish...arey me from new bombay yaar.......k all these charges they come in the bill right?i mean when i am submittin the forms(new tel+ triband) n all, i don't have to pay there any bux.
 
Just fill the form with mention of your plan ( telephone & triband).. No need to pay anything. You'll get all the charges included in your first bill
 
Santoo is right. Everything will be in First bill. Keep an watch on every bill which is being paid or to be paid. Because you know how mtnl are in their work. Enjoy the speeds.
 
i advice you against your own CPE. The modem will cost you not less than 2000 bucks or possibly more or much more than that. While if you go in for the rental one then it will cost you just 960 bucks a YEAR. Suppose the modem breaks down, then they will have to replace it for free 😉 As opposed to this if you purchase the modem then you will have to replace / repair the modem! Also, if something goes wrong with your connection then they will "your" equipment for the problem. Also, you may not get installation support if your purchase your own CPE 😉
