As now airtel is available in my area and this new offer of airtel 256kbps unlimited for 1000 rupees is way too hard to resist, so i have finally decided to get sify and tata disconnected and use airtel instead of both these. Sify is not so good in connectivity while tatabroadband is very expensive. I have called the airtel cc and asked them to send me a reprenstative of theirs at my home. So those who have airtel connection pls answer my few questions:1. In how many days can i expect to get the connection ?2. Will I need a telephone connection also from airtel ? If yes than wht will it be the rental ?3. The speed is upto 256 as their site states. So will it be around 256 mark normally or will it be way too lower than 2564. Did the 1000 rs per month include modem rental and service tax also ?5. What is the downtime of airtel connection (here i don't mean cos of server prob but cos of connectivity prob like wire cuts etc )

if u stay in mumbai the phone is provided for free with the broadband connection, its upto u whether u want 2 use it or not... they also provide free calling minutes for the 1st 3 months... that includes 1000mins local + 100mins STD + 10mins ISD...Calls beyond that wil be cahrged @ Rs.1.1/pulse ie 180 sec pulse for landline n 90 sec pulse for cell phones....the speed will be near 256, but not above that...downtime is minimum... in case of any prob, they respond quickly...if they have laid cables near ur place, then u can expect 2 get the connection in 2-3 days...the Rs.1000.month includes the modem rental but not the service tax....for more details browze through the topic "come to mumbai" in the airtel broadband forum itselfWhere exactly do u stay in mumbai??? Hitman, call them again on the customer care no. and tell them that u had asked for a connection a week back 😛 sound a bit angry and ask for representative's no. or else u can always go to their office in udyog vihar and book yourself a connection on the spot.In my case the guy who booked the connection came on the second day and the line was installed within 4 days (normally they say 48 hrs after booking, but it had rained that week 🙁 ) and the dsl guy will install the modem n the splitter and activate your internet the very next day or maximum two days, after ur line has been installed.I hope your going for the home999 plan (256 K unlimited)
They called me today and told me tht it is still not in my block. Come on man they just laid wires not even 50 meter away from my home and still says it will take time finish up the wiring to my block. Extremely angry.... Y the hell do they put up the banners than .... Any idea what to do next ?? My sify guy had also winded up from my area cos of competiton, so now just left with expensive tata 🙁

He was complaining abt airtel putting banners aroudn areas where their is no service available. Now i see ads of all sort of things on television. not all of them are targeted or are available at my place. so i have a problem with that. i need personalised advertisement on television. 🙂

In my case they sent the rep within 2-3 days and installed the connection next day, as my colony already had 30 odd connections.
