Hi guysI am planning to take a broadband/cable internet(256/128Kbps unlimited) in Bangalore. Can you guys tell me which is the best offer available for abt 1k/month?Thanks.

Simple. Airtel Home 999 plan. 256kbps up/down Unlimited. 999 a month.

mine is Hathway freeway regular(256kbps unlimited), no downtimes, paying 995+10% tax.How much Airtel ppl charging for installation?

If it's available where you live, otherwise you might have to consider Hathway. If that's not there either, you are left with Sify (gulp) or BSNL.i paid 2 x Rs.333 spread out over a cpl of months for installation. A far cry from the Rs.4000 (non-refundable) the local cable wallah charged me cpl yrs back.

Thanks guysI will call the airtel broadband customer care and ask whether it is available in my area . If so, i'll go for it. Otherwise I'll check other options like Hathway/BSNL.Cheers.

hey ash !! i wud suggest hathway rather than airtel simply coz hathway doesnt charge u modem rentals at all !! and even the registration is jus trs 500 and not like 333x3 times as it is in airtel !!

Airtel doesnt charge that much. They have changed their cost structure.

The Airtel guys just called me up & said that their service is not available in my area. I think that I should contact Hathway now. Any suggestions? Thanks.

search around the forum and you will find many. One of them is that they will wire up your place badly...

what the hell u talkin abt dude ?
hathway has one of the quickest installation that i have ever seen.
if u go to them today usually by 2rw (if its not a sunday) or by the 2nd day u r connected. im sayin this with experience... once while takin my bb connection initially and another time when i shifted my connection.

Thats good. But people have terrible things to say about hathway. For example they put their wires over trees and bring them into your house in any manner.... Plus they have port caps too..

dude how does it matter how does the ISP connect u. all u shld be concerend with is that u r connected with low downtime. and yeah only minus with hathway is that they block ports grrrr

Hi guysI called up the Airtel people for a new connection, but unfortunately they said that its not available in my area. Same was the case with Hathway people. Then I called up my cable provider & asked him whether he is providing cable internet. He came & met me & told me that he is providing connection. But it's a shared connection(LAN) . He is asking Rs 1300 as installation charges & Rs 1350/month for 256Kbps. He is using Zeenext, i believe. So what should I do according to you guys? Should I take a chance & go for this(as this is realistically the only option left apart from BSNL with 1 GB d/l limit)? Please help.
