Linksys Wireless WRT54G and My COMPAQ Laptop (connecting but no browsing)

Hi,I have purchased WRT54-G WIRELESS G BROADBAND ROUTER last week.I have config it with my beetal 220 BXI ADSLS+MODEM . The wirelessrouter is working fine when I have plugin the modem ethernet wire into it andhave my computer plugin into one of the ports it offered to connect to.The problem rises when I try to connect it using wireless from my laptop.I have following settings for wireless in router :-Wireless Network Mode: MixedSSID: LinksysWireless Channel : 11 - 2.4 ghzWireless SSID Broadcasr : EnableWireless settings:=Wireless security mode : WPA PERSONAL ( I have 4 options here)WPA ALGORITHMS : TKIPWPA Shared Key : XXXXXXX(some value)Group Key Renewal : 3600 secondsIn my laptop(COMPAQ) , I have successfully connected to the wirelessnetwork but when I browse the internet, its do not open the page.I have disabled the firewall also but still the same problem, no browsing.Please guide me friends.Also I try to contact airtel tech ppl but they said they dont support Linksys routers config.what a shame...Thanks,Munish

I can now connect to the internet using wireless router, I dint configure
the dialup (ppp0e) earlier on my laptop. But the prob is now the connection is getting disconnected automattically after few mins its logins the airtel.

I dont know why it is happening, can u please guide me in right direction?

Also I havent edited the MAC FILTER list, neither I added anything in that, do I have do that? is it required ?

I am using WEP and random keys with channel 11 as default with 2.4ghz, this is the default set.

In my laptop, it still shows "not connected" when actually it is connected and i can browse the internet. When I try to connect initially it asks for the key sometimes and somestimes not.I dont know why it happens.

Also the signal becomes weaker...sometimes I am not able to connect and find the wireless connection even sitting just next to router...gosh! I am sick of this Linksys.Help me pls.

@/members/munish/ 1.since you say your getting Wireless connectivity, check any setting for Idle time. should be set to 0. ( usually in WAN page )1A. Connection stability can be also checked by connecting Laptop ethernet port.If ok , recheck wireless settings.2.Did you try Channel 6 ? see jpg 11. What is the channel selected in your laptop's LAN wireless card ? May be interference from cordless /microwave oven etc operating in 2.4 Ghz frequency range ?3.Please post ipconfig/all for LAN and wireless.( start run cmd type ipconfig/all)
