before you think, this isnt tennis! 😛 im talking about the US Open Golf Championship. The 108th us open has been one of the most exciting and intense golf tours. though i missed most of it, i did see the last day and the playoffs!just when it was looking like Rocco Mediate, out of nowhere ranked 158, was gonna win his first major at the age of 45, Tiger Woods pulled out truly amazing eagles and birdies, while Rocco missed a couple of important putts. they had to go into playoffs and everyone thought mediate didnt have a chance over the 18-holes playoffs.but he proved everyone wrong. after Tiger had a good start and was in a 3-shot lead and was looking to win his 14th title, Mediate, with some great shots, shot upto a 1-up lead over Tiger to come up to the last 18th hole! Tiger made a birdie here to go into sudden death. Mediate made a wild shot in the side which enabled Tiger to clinch his 14th major, just 4 short of legendary Jack Nicklauss' 18 major record.Tiger is sooo amazing with putting. he made a totally crazy 15 foot putt for eagle on one of the holes! :O a few other putts were also exceptional. whenever it mattered the most Tiger Woods would come up with great shots. he also made a few fantastic shots when you think he just couldnt. they just simply have to be called "Tiger shots".it was a really fantastic play by Rocco Mediate. he was a total underdog ranked at 158 in the world and his last win over 5-6 years back. if he would have won, he would have been the oldest person to win his first major and also the oldest to win the US Open. i think the turning point was when he missed an easy putter in one of the last holes on the last day. that gave Tiger a chance and that is certainly what you shouldnt be doing against Tiger Woods.(I hope someone around here watches golf. 😛)

yeah i was watching it sometime back on the television. but golf no matter how interesting the round is... it remains boring. 😀

haha, i knew that u meant US open golf.but i am not interested in golf, i just read it in paper and my friend informed me abt it. just till yesterday i didnt know what putt and birdie etc is, but now i know a little bit.

when i tell my friends i like to watch golf, they give a weird look at me and say "are you some kinda freak?" 😛i just find golf great.

i actually worked in an online golf network for around six months.at one point of time i knew the names of like the top 100 golf courses in the USA.i did learn a lot about the game during those days. i can actually watch it for like an hour or two (if it's not live)... but overall its boring.

What a match it was. I have not seen Federer dominate someone like that in years I can say.Murray's strokes which Nadal didnt have answer to, were answered with ease and accuracy.I watched end of 1st set and then rest of the match. When I turned on TV, I felt Murray is hitting ball cleanly but then every shot, Federer was hitting it back even more cleanly, it was so pin point perfect game from both the players.Murray played good and upto mark till first 2 sets but then he had lost hope so that affected his last set, Federer quickly raced to 5-0 lead in last set but then lost one break again but eventually winning 1 more break to win 6-2! and his FIRST and ONLY GRAND SLAM this year!!Match is worth seeing again. I wud say, those who dont know what federer is capable of really (what he cudnt do this year), wud know why he reigned as number one for 4 years!

Good that finally fedrer won a grand slam in this year...........stupid ten sports i dont know when telecasted this match i waited till 12 mid night but they were showing WWE...........the epg also did not show properly about the final..Tesnpsorts also did not advertise properly about this match in their channel.......i missed the final which fedrer won😀

well.. match was at 5PM new york time so obviously if u wait till 2AM also, it wudnt come! it was at 2.30AM IST.but yes tensports was showing WWE when Djokovic and Federer match started. Scores were already shown on US open website and i waited for 45mins on tensports and then finally there comes "tensports live" logo with first set starting and within 5mins score reaches in 10th game of 2nd set!!!So eventually I cudnt see the almost half match. And that advertisement now every sports channel shows by squeezing screen, someone shud report IB ministry. quality is going even after channel rates keep increasing.

Ten Sports really sucks in tennis live telecast.......they dont give us proper information about the matches unlike Star Sports.......

yep and 10-15% times, ball is not sharp and gets lost for a stroke and video gets stuck in between too.

Yesterday in the evening i watched the highlights of that watch it was superb........whole hearted congradulations to fedrer.......It shows that he is desperate to be become no:1 in ranking. If he continues in this form i think by the end of the year he will be no:1.......... It would have been a treat to watch if Nadal coming to the final and fedrer winning the US Open........ I am sure very soon he will break Pet Sampras Record too......... I want to see Nadal vs Fedrer in the finals where in fedrer should thrash him ........ Now a days fedrer shows his emotions of happiness in the court when he wins crucial points and sets which i really enjoyed in this US open and i hope to see this more with fedrer............

its very unlikely that he wud get the no 1 rank by year end, as he has 1000+pts to defend and nadal 600+ only. and nadal is already 1000+ pts ahead of him. nadal can improve on 600+ but federer can not improve on 1000+ pts as those are almost like maximum pts that can be achieived.in short world ranking, he cant be no. 1 but ATP race he can be number 1 if he performs well and nadal performs little less in last 3 months of the year.

it doesnt work the way u might be thinking. for example, here is something which will surprise youBefore US open, Nadal had 6700 points and Federer 5910 pointsNow Nadal lost in semifinals, and Federer won championshipGuess whats the points are now?!!Here it is:Nadal 7000 points, Federer still same 5910 points!!So if you know how the points are calculated, you will also know what I mean by 1000+ points to defend and 600+ points to defend. Its like for federer to be no1 b4 year end,Nadal will almost have to lose in 1st or 2nd round in all tournaments (which is not possible) and forFederer its almost a MUST to win his tournaments. So you cant say, anything is possible and keep ur mind unlogically hopeful.
