Hah... it will flop here.

And I have always been suspicious of how eco-friendly it is. Today I found this:

Hummer vs. Prius
Some environmentalists call the nickel mine in Sudburry, Ontario, one of the world’s worst environmental messes, saying it is the largest single point source for acid raid-causing chemicals in North America.

It is also the place where Toyota gets the nickel for the batteries that run its hybrid vehicles.

The nickel is smelted, removed from the rock and then it is shipped by container ship to Wales for refining. Its trip takes it to China where it is turned into nickel foam, then on to Japan to Toyota’s battery plant.

The trip, start to finish, is more than 10,000 miles, mostly on heavy polluting container ships.

And of course, no one is going to buy the Honda Civic Hybrid at Rs. 21.5 lakhs (about 9 lakhs more than the highest variant of the petrol Civic!!!!) The reason they got that car to India apparently is so that they can glorify themselves and advertise to death how "eco-friendly" they are.

well they need it just for the sake of having it in competition to honda civic hybrid... it's more of an ego thing for the two japanese companies. 🙂and prius is expected to be a big hit amongst the celebrities in india who would boast of it on page 3...
