Airtel Broadband: Configuring Airtel's Beetel 220BX adsl2+ modem

well, i want to set up my ftp server. i m having airtel's 128kbps connection with beetel's 220bx adsl2+ modem. Since in the router configuration when we go from web browser there is no port forwarding option. but when we goto router configuration through telnet, we can. i have made changes from telnet as followsI login through telnet into router configuration using command prompttelnet 192.168.1.1 i get following options :1. ADSL Link State2. LAN3. WAN4. DNS Server5. Route Setup6. NAT7. Firewall8. Quality of Service9. Managements10. Passwords11. Reset to default12. Save & Reboot13. Exiti go to 6. option i.e. NATThere was Virtual Server & DMZ optioni go to Virtual Server option & Added a virtual Server with following optionService Name : FTPExternal Start Port : 21External Stop Port : 21Internal Start Port : 21Internal Stop Port : 21Internal IP Address : 192.168.1.2then i saved this configuration & rebooted. I just want to know is this settings are correct. please reply.
 
i tried this but this also doesnt work for me .... do i have to make any additional configuration somewhere as i also saw dmz over there when i telnet to router .... m still getting routers page with ip thats assigned to my pc !
 
Dude get urself a better router or a firewall maybe ? This modem is the most basic n is not safe for FTP.
 
i got my 220bx modem today only and it has a new firmware , it wrks fine no need of port forwardin 😛

i go to 6. option i.e. NAT
There was Virtual Server & DMZ option

Internal Stop Port : 21
Internal IP Address : 192.168.1.2

then i saved this configuration & rebooted.

ARE YOU HAVING STATIC ip in this connection otherwise always you are suppose to check dynamic ip befor doing ftp
Plz chk THIS

open 22obx
as //192.168.1.1/main.html
go ADVANCE
NAT
VERTUAL SERVER
NAT VIRTUAL SERVER PAGE OPENS
THERE U CAN TICK ON select a serveice ( as FTP SERVER )
give name as ABC
and give the local ip
suppose it is 192.1680.1.5
port no.21

it will work

I don't get the NAT option in mine. All I get is WAN and LAN options?

you'll get the NAT option when you'll change the link in address bar from 192.168.1.1/xyz???.... to 192.168.1.1/main.html, there u will find a category NAT under which you will find the VIRTUAL SERVERS option..

NOTE: please change the link only after logging in to the modem..

Nope. The NAT option still dosen't come.

click on routing & then check, this is the older version firmware i guess... because in new firmware, we have the NAT option...

i think Routing is same as NAT here... please check it & if don't get any help, please do SMS me on my mob 9311006007, i'll call ya if u r from NCR region..
 
a good reason why we all need to fill up the location setting in user profiles.
