Airtel is worst telecom company i ever came to know. I'm willing to put my case for all forum members to discuss more on this topic.***************************************************Please read all the email communication with me and airtel and how badly theytreat their customers. This big company is a total FRAUD on customer'spoint of view. Its not just me but i can send you more than 10 moreairtel customer testimonals and i'm also ready to produce recordedconversation with me and their customer care people who always try topass the buck on other's shoulder or drop the line or put on hold formore than 30 minutes.A telecomminication company like Airtel takes 15 days to reply emailsand in many cases, they NEVER reply customer's email. This is theprofessional way of airtel in dealing with customer who always paidmonthly bills on time and many time even i have ask to them forsending bill. They NEVER send bills on time and then try to chargecustomer with late payment. The lastest case is bill of current monthwhich they not send me till date even i made a complained regardingthis on 5/10/2005 and my token number is "DC10716691-8228".MY DSL connection is also not working satisfactory. I logged acomplain on 13/09/2005 and got complained number DR9937804-3788. Afterwaiting 11 days, i again called their customer care and their replywas "WE NOT FORWARDED YOUR COMPLAINED TO OUR ENGINEERS BECAUSE WASSERVER WAS DOWN FOR PAST 11 DAYS SO I'M GIVING YOU ANOTHER COMPLAINEDNUMBER (DR9956979-8228 dated 24/09/2005).After waiting another 2 weeks, i called again to their customer careand they gave another complained number (DC10722817-8228 dated7/10/2005) but they still not able to address the connectivity problemin DSL connection even after almost a month.Last month, i read in newpapers and on your channel also that TRAIgave directive to all customer care centers that call waiting must notbe more than 90 seconds but pls try to call their customer care number- 01151612345 and see the call waiting sometime more than 300 seconds. If a big telecommunication company like airtel can't follow the TRAIdirective after a month, how can we assume others will follow in thisregard?***********************************************Thats the email i'm going to send to consumer forum as well as many business channels of india. Forum members, pls help me more by your comments to SUE these silly people in court.

Which city do you live in ?Not had any probs with Airtel to date. The bill arrives promptly begining of the month and is only due like 2 weeks after. No DSL probs to date and i would consider myself a 24x7x(3 months now & counting) user. The probs u mention remind me of my previous ISP.

yeah, even I have had a largely good experience with Airtel, give or take a little bit... not that I am denying your experience... not surprised at all...... the problem is this stupid thing called outsourcing, which although has some great applications in business no doubt, but in India helps facilitate a huge cycle of ignorance, inefficiency and pass-the-buck unaccountability.... the customer service people I have come across (except for one person who helped me switch to the Home 999 plus scheme) have been largely schooled in typical responses to give to common questions, but have little to no ability to think outside the realm of those FAQs....anyway, my personal suggestion would be to not pay the bill till your problem gets sorted out... you have a contract with them, and if they don't honour their commitment, you don't have to honour yours..... also, in the meantime, send a message to the main offices in Delhi and Mumbai and see what you get from there....p.s. Use snail mail / courier.... not just for the complaint letter, but for all the letters you want to send to consumer forums, business magazines etc.... unfortunately in India, e-mail is not taken as seriously as physical letters, and that's why the morons in most companies seem to handle the e-mail communication.p.p.s. If you hate Airtel for it's customer support, never buy anything from Nokia.

Airtel's been pretty decent all these months, for me as well.Best ISP till now. No problems, except for IRC ports being blocked.

As luck would have it after i posted about how good Airtel was, a few hrs later their DSLAM went down (a major part of BLR was affected) and was off the air for 12 hrs...This is an exception apart from a few hrs interruption each month for maintenance, things have been good. Not had any probs with IRC, connections drop occasionaly but get resumed quickly after.

On the other hand i wud say that airtel had been the best ISP i ever had till now ,100% uptime since last 2 month(when i started their sevice),customer care pretty decent but yes they do take about 3 to 4 min to take the call but my previous isp Sify use to take (30 min to 1hr,multiple calls ,and most of time dont take it,never call back),hotwire(well rarely take the call),so even in this case they are good atleast,Email -airtel responds in 6hrs to 2 days(ok for me),sify(autoresponse in 1 day but actuall response may take one week to not at all and the answer they give seems like machine generated most frequently answers and never specific)hotwire (no email support).Never had any major complaints just tweeks abut my connection but whenever i called there CC they usually arrive in 30 mins to max 6 hrs.Billing-the best i have seen1.I started service on 26 th july with 256kbps 1 GB pack(Rs 500) but their billing cycle starts on 16th of every month to 15th of following month ,so initially i thought that they wud give me at max 500MB from 26th july to 15th aug .Now even after controlling great deal i used 850MB during that period but the bill allayed all my fears clearly stated that I cud have used 1 GB full kotta for paying half the amount(RS 250 ).2 Next billing cycle i exceeded 1 GB by about 150 MB but they still charged me for 1 GB flat but any other ISP wud have definately charged Rs 300 extra at@Rs2/MB).Payment delay fines--Now buddy they offer to collect payments at your doorsteps so i can alwaysmanage to pay on time and even then if i dont pay on time then its not their fault but mine and they right in demanding fines.Anyways reliance(my mobile service) also collect flat Rs 25 as fine for just a few days delays even when they are really at fault.Speed _right now i have migrated to 128 kbps unlimited(since 22sept) and they are still providing me 256kbps speed. There CC were not sure themselves but they say that probably technical deptt have been instructed to double speeds on all packs(already they had reduced Face valve of all packs just a few weeks back so its added bonus if this is true).

I don think its the worst at all! I say only about the broadband part! As ur title reads.. Telecom company.. The rest of them arent great n are stricken with problems! Specially billing and connectivity problems

pas........... u seem to be a representative of some rival company 😉

Heh yeah, i was getting that feeling too..Unless he is talking about Airtel as in their cell phones. In which case i would question why the post was made in the briadband section. So pas...speak up...

I think that this topic should be locked or deleted, Simply becuase this thread is in "Airtel Broadband Forum" which clearly means only broadband related topics n this topic is kinda bad mouthing airtel broadband which so far have been excellent.N i think this guy maybe froma rival co., reason being just one post n a big write up. 😛
