Do u think sending 'Paheli' to Oscars was justified?

It may be true that it represents Indian culture but the whole storyline was dumb.
But how did it make it to the Oscars?
Still a paheli to me!!

I think Black deserves to be in the Oscars.

Damn the ending of paheli was really stupid.

Yeah swades was a diff too..Swades, Iqbal, page3, MP(except the songs) all deserve par above Paheli.

Still no "pure" Indian movie in the nomination ...

the foreigners are calling / thinking that SDM is a bollywood flick 😀

i saw slumdog again last night. at a special screening for media people 😀 with page 3 people around. 😀 had fun. the main part of the movie is that nothing was unrealistic about what is shown in the movie. poverty? its hereslums? its herepolice torture? its herelove for film stars? its herecommunal riots? its herekids being made handicapped to make them beggars? its herekids being made whores? its heretouts at taj mahal? its herestealing shoes at monuments? very possibledons keeping women as company? happens everywhereelder brother killing himself to save his younger brother's love? now that's bollywood.

ahem. of course the movie is not really brilliant. but it has every component of making a hit movie! great charactersgreat music thrillsome actiona little bit of comedythe useful romancehardcore villiansbrotherly loverags to riches storylineand it's not over the top.

every movie would have factual mistakes. the movie was not supposed to be an accurate representation of someone's life. historical are supposed to be accurate. fairy tales? not really.

Mistakes which can easily make out ..... That movie I don't think so should get nominated for Oscar ........
