ive a bsnl connection & use torrents............however the ports were closed so after reading through the forum , i came across a solution from a member.........i logged to the modem by going to http://192.168.1.1/ and changed the system ip address to "192.168.1.2"
............After this a message saying "System error - there is an Ip address conflict with another system on the network" pops up on the taskbar.....+++ i no longer can log on to the modem to change back the settings!!!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!😢:wall:🙁

U can type 192.168.1.2 into the address bar and see if u can get through..although am nt sure...just try it and see weather modem page will come..And yes, in the "network connection" in control panel did u edit the values??

brother i think u changed ip address of your modem, which previously 192.168.1.1, your computer's ip address was 192.168.1.2, now you have two things in network, with same ip address.first change your lan's ip address (from computer not from modems) to 192.168.1.3 or 192.168.1.4 or something else.then try login to modem with ip address 192.168.1.2 insted of 192.168.1.1.try this and post reply

Problem : Unable to access Modem settings.

1.Add this link to your bookmarks/Favorites. Select your modem for settings reference etc.
BSNL BROADBAND MAIN MENU
2.Try other suggestions, and confirm you are connected to Internet.
3.Start/Network/LAN/Properties/TCP/IP properties.
Check Default gateway ( for modem ). and IP address are different.
Select Obtain IP address automatically and try.
4. If not reset the modem to factory settings.

system (computer) ip can be changed from computer itself, unless dhcp is not used. but he changed ip address from modem page, i think it is server/modem's ip not computer's

yes, even i think the same...he might have changed his Modems Ip..

Ive cheked that the default gateway and ip address are different
"Obtain ip address automatically" is already selected

the message doesnt come now .......and ive been successful in logging to the modem using 192.168.1.2. Should i change the address back to 1.1.

Are you using USB Port ? in the computer ? usually modem access IP 192.168.1.1. &192.168.1.2 for USB access. DHCP normally range 192.168.1.3 to 192.168.1 .X ( any upto 253). If all are Ok don't change anything. Torrents speed can be less if USB port used. What is your modem's details? Make , type etc.

so what was the problemu changed server's ip address from 1.1 to 1.2, that time your computer was assigned ip address 1.2, so ip address conflict.u were trying to login in your modem's settings with 192.168.1.1, but not able to login.what was the solutionnow as dhcp is enabled, and then computer is set to obtain ip address automatically, your server/modem has assigned a ip address to your computer which is not server's ip address. so network connection established.when u tried to login using 192.168.1.2, it was success. because your modem's ip address is 192.168.1.2.

OK. if interested try to get one locally or by post from India thru your friend/s ( try e bay.in. Cost around Rupees Rs 250/= for a desktop computer. a standby option/connection is advisable.

Im having problems regarding port forwarding in utorrentgetting speeds of only 13 kbps though speed test reveals speeds of about 500kbps
