HelloPlease let me know if anyone has connected more than 1 phone lines to a single Dataone connection. My problem is that I have around 4 Telephones which is split from a single telephone line ( the 4 phones being in different rooms). I was told that I would not be able to use the other phones once I get the Dataone connection. I was told that I should connect only 1 phone, or else I wuldn't be able to browse.Moreover my telephone line from the pole comes to the ground floor, my PC is in the first floor, so I need to pull an extension from the ground floor to the first floor.I would like to know if I could connect all the phones as well as browse without any problem using any switches/hubs/splitters. If anyone has come across the same problem please let me know what to do abt it. RegardsNebu

Yes, it is simple. At some point the telephone line enters your premises and splits into 4 lines. Add the filter before that point to separate your voice and dsl. Now you will have to add another line from the dsl to where ever your computer/dsl modem is. ORYou could discconect one of your phone lines and connect that to the DSL, but that means no phone on that line.ORConnect modem at that point and run Ethernet Cable/wireless (choose DSL modem with WAP or DSL modem with Wireless Router ) directly to your computer. I would do wireless. That way yuo can have Internet even in your loo. 😀

[/quote]yes i was also told this think. but you can do it like the phone line which is coming to your ground floor, you just extent it by joying a telephone wire to your pc which is in your first floor. first you give the line to the spleter which is given to you with the modem. the spleter has three lines one for the main phone line to the spleter one for the modem and one for the phone. the one for the phone line.you can make this line to four phone lines by semply jaking a wire to the soket and from that to a normal spleter which is having a to or four way socket by semply add them you can use the phone lines. but first you shoud add the modem line. mrinal 🙂 kolkata.
ADSL Docs recommends that use parallel Telephone instruments after Spliitting the ADSL signal. So The Splitter must be connected to Main Line coming from BSNL, after passing from Splitter you can use multiple Instruments.If you use Multiple instruments before Splitting ADSL signals then that may effect your Internet Speed.Regards
