24 hours into switching over to ACT (Delhi) and...

So I switched over to ACT fibernet from airtel for the very simple reason. FIBER Line. Airtel didn't have it yet in my apartment complex and ACT did.

Installation was quick. I made a lumpsum payment for the 6-months plan of Rs 5657 (Region - Pitampura, Delhi). First came the execs to bring in the wire. About 90 minutes later came another engineer with the router and within 15 minutes we were up and running. 150 mbps upload and download. It worked. And I was happy! This was around 7 pm on Saturday, June 12th.

Switch to today - everything worked great until 5pm and then, my worst fears came true. Internet has been down since 5 pm. I raised the complaint on their number at around 5.30pm and an exec visited to check the issue. He went up to the roof to check the box came back and simply said "We need to change the wire". I mean what the actual F. It's not even been 24 hours, I said. He just shrugged his shoulders and repeated the same.

Now they are supposed to visit me again and "rewire" this shit. Could someone please suggest me - HAVE I F'D UP FROM SWITCHING OVER TO ACT FROM AIRTEL?

Also, what's the refund policy? If things don't go well, would I be able to get a refund? I checked the site and it makes tall claims about refunds. But what's the truth? I switched from Airtel to ACT as my dad needs to take online classes and the 40 mbps airtel speed was barely giving 10 mbps upload speed. Needed more than that for a comfortable online experience for dad.

Will keep you all updated about the 48 hour experience. Hopefully that's a lot better than the initial 24 hour. To be honest, it worked like a charm when it did. But now it's dead and I don't know what to do.

ACT has a 30 days refund policy.

Give some days to act. Only then you can have a better picture of ACTs reliability etc.

36-hour update

I called up the gentleman who is the main point of contact for ACT for me. I am told "Sir, my landlord passed away last night and I have come to attend his funeral. But I have told my boys, they will come over soon."

I seriously want to believe this guy, given the situation the world over. But somewhere I have my doubts. My gut feeling is cautioning me of a typical 'professionalism' found in India.

UPDATE - IT'S FIXED!!!

Hi Team,

The issue is resolved for now. There seemed to be some breakage in the wire. The executive was able to spot the issue and fixed it within 30 minutes.

We are back to 150 mbps download and upload. I just want to pray that this is not a frequent/recurring issue in the future.

However, I am happy the ACT team kept their word and it got fixed within the promised time.

God Bless, Godspeed.
