Excellent internet speeds on Vodafone Idea Sim

Absolutely. I am in that weird location where no cell tower has good reach. Vi, Airtel and Jio, all have similarly poor signal, only data speeds vary between acceptable and poor. Airtel has the best balance of speed and signal and Jio is mediocre but stable. Airtel edges Jio out in terms of speed, that's it. Otherwise I could pick any, eyes closed. Airtel gave me 80 Mbps last year for a month. I have not seen that since. Vi has the slowest data speed at my location.

I have one of those things that must not be named, and still reception is not up to the mark, RSRP values hovering around -95 sometimes and near about -100 to -105 almost always . Without that, signal will go down to -110 to -113 even -115.

It supports 4G? @phoenix10386 I’ve only seen 3G and 2G ones.

Femtocell is the only solution in such a scenario. It’s a shame India is more than a decade behind on this technology being allowed here.

Well, I have DCS 1800 and GSM 900, and I would like to think (not sure) that these things just boost the frequency, so they are good to be used with both 2G and 4G and even 3G.

@phoenix10386 -95dBm is quite good to support necessary speeds. 10-15 Mbps is quite good then considering you’re in a dead zone.

This is all talk for another thread I’m afraid. But my advice would be to call in someone with the Know-how of antennae, who will suggest a high gain directional antenna if your performance is subpar, you need to fix your antennae.

@socrates i get around 15-20 on band 1 and 3 . For band 41 I get around 5mbps inside home and 30 mbps on roof. All are without CA in idea sim at Lucknow UP EAST circle.
This was before 3G was shutdown after that I don’t know as I stay in Rajasthan now but the speeds in band 1 might have improved due to added capacity.
