I wanted to surrender my BSNL FTTH connection but currently we are in partial lockdown so my vendor told me it won't be possible to discontinue right now. Is there a way I could discontinue it immediately so I don't have to pay for it from the next month. Also, I purchased the ONT from them when I took the connection. Will it be possible to return and get some money back or I am stuck with the ONT?

You could send a letter by post if possible or contact the CSC by phone and see if they would accept a request over email.

ONT, no, they will not take it back. You only option would be to sell it to someone else.

From my previous experience, you need to visit your local exchange for any disconnection. CSC will not accept disconnection requests, which defeats the whole purpose of CSC. Not sure if this is still the case. You can ask the LCO for your area AE and check . If you have deposit, they will adjust it with the payments due and send you a cheque for the remaining amount. If any equipment is rented , you need to return it.

Write an email to the SDO of your area with a surrender application attached. Also handover a printout of the same application to the LCO. No need to visit exchange. I surrendered my connection recently and same procedure worked. You can keep the ONT and use if for other fiber connection in case planning to switch.

Well its BSNL you really can't expect much. Are you switching to something else? Or is the quality of service not acceptable?

Okay thanks. Is there a way to find SDO's email? I am unable to get it and my LCO doesn't have it

That's odd, in my area only CSC's accept disconnection request and even new connection requests. The exchange doesn't accept any of these requests.
Yes, this was way back when i surrendered my adsl line. CSC said i need to visit exchange for surrendering since they need to refer to the file 🙁 , even though BSNL was digitized. As i said things might have changed now.
