[initial impression]New Airtel Xtreme connection in Jharkhand

I had informed both simultaneously
 
this is a weird trend that airtel is not good in bihar, jharkhand and nearby areas.

Can some experienced guy comment on this? @isp007
 
Panta users are getting routed through Kolkata now. Can you confirm if it changed for you too, or is it still shitty?
 
cant tell about others today i checked and my gateway is kolkata
 

I am from Jamshedpur with 100Mbps Airtel Xstream Plan. Very Good Speed / No Voice or Landline as promised / Airtel uses your modem to offer internet connection to unknown people (see Hidden unknown SSID injected by Airtel in AOT-4221SR modem ).

Ping to most metros is around 90ms for US / UK /Germany is 150-250ms. jitters is also very low. Speed is fantastic I have 100Mbps Xstream Fiber subscription and getting around 105-110Mbps both uplink and downlink.

Though Airtel Xstream plan suppose to provide a free Landline (Voice) connection, they did not and their excuse is they did not have local exchange connectivity which will take time.

If you are a Airtel Xstream user with AOT-4221SR ONT modem (Black modem with a ring LED on top) please read about hidden SSID (controlled by Airtel) running without your knowledge in Hidden unknown SSID injected by Airtel in AOT-4221SR modem , and respond if it is also there in your case.

Don't you think the ping to Indian servers are quite high I am using BSNL and get 30-60ms to metro cities. Have you complaint to them about it? I also want to switch to Airtel Xstream because the service of BSNL is quite bad. When its good then its 40ms to Indian servers but sometime (3-4 hrs every week ) there is constant packet loss and 400ms ping.
 
@Mrinal619 Airtel has started shifting users in Bihar to Kolkata gateway (earlier it was Mumbai/Lucknow) and since then pings have improved. Hoping that they will do the same in Jharkhand.
 
can someone pls tell abt the current status of Airtel in Bokaro ? They are expanding rapidly in sector areas. Currently i am with den broadband , and service is almost nonexistent , downtimes happen quite frequently. thinking of switching.

my primary uses will be

doing my online classes (videos streamed from CDN)
Teams meetings
and speedtests etc , are welcome

Guys after complaining on pgpotal some guys from airtel came to my house and told me that they have started shifting people to patna and kolkata server starting from jamshedpur and are going alphabetically name wise. He said every person requires manual change so can some from jamshedpur maybe confirm if this guy is right or not, I am pretty sure he just lied tho.
