This info is available when you make the PPPoE connection. Some routers display it in the UI too.

Regarding the hardware upgrade, I've been getting IPv6 since more than a year. Not all areas in Kerala are upgraded, some are still on the legacy Ericsson (I think) hardware. Perhaps the pandemic has slowed the upgrades 🤷🏻‍♂️
I think I can ssh into ONT, any command to manually ask the ONT to redo the PPPoE stuff and fetch the MAC?

Hahaha!
Have to wait little longer...
Damn you Ericsson.

@Elavarasan Just set Obtain IPv6-Address to Automatic

@AAK I don't think so, cause this is a PON, so you need a device which understands that.

@Realme My guess is that the Ericsson device is out of support/warranty etc and in most cases renewing the support/warranty plan for a legacy product costs almost the same as the cost of the hardware. I am guessing Juniper quoted a lower price when it came to renewal.

Given the Juniper's reputation in the internet router scene, lets see what BSNL makes our of it 🤣

Btw as your are on ipv6, how reliable is BSNl's ipv6?

Is there any 'Practical' benefit for using IPv6? If I configure for IPv6, then if IPv6 is not available, the router will default to IPv4?

Thanks
