Hi, I subscribed to Airtel Xstream 499 plan with 40mbps download. Since my area is still not under their fiber coverage they provided me on VDSL2 with a beetel router. I was told by the sales guy that I would get atleast 10 mbps upload, but I'm getting only 1mbps, the router shows max upload achievable as 1300kbps, and SNR is around 10.3. What is the general upload speeds do you get on the 499 plan ? both with fiber and on copper ?

Any suggestions on how do I get this rectified will be appreciated. I need atleast 5 mbps upload.

I used to get around 8-9mbps when I was on vdsl.

my SNR for both upload and download is 10.x, and loop length is 800m. I'm getting getting dn/up speed of 38mbps/1mbps.

The modem shows these figures:

Operational StatusVDSL2 AnnexB
Upstream Speed1379 kbps
Downstream Speed43412 kbps
Max Attainable Up1379 kbps
Max Attainable Down42876 kbps
Upstream Out Power4.5
Downstream Out Power13.5

Attenuation Down Stream24
Attenuation Up Stream20
SNR Margin Down Stream10.6
SNR Margin Up Stream9.8

I believe it may be the low upstream Out power which is the culprit of 1mbps upload speed.

considering dl speed, up speed seem out of regular. Ask for a modem change.

SNR is borderline average. Try changing the position of the router so its not around any other electronic devices, remove any splitter in the chain and test again. Else a line check needs to be done by a technician. Anecdotal experience but I have felt Airtel's old telephone infra is starting to fail slowly.

I've raised a complain, even asked them to terminate the subscription, but the local technician and his manager says more than 1mbps is not possible and they keep closing my service request. I asked them to just cancel the line, lets see.
