Railwire upload speed problem

Hello,

I have the 50mbps unlimited plan (symmetric speed). The upload speed on speedtest.net is only 50mbps when using the Railtel server, every other server gives an upload speed of between 15-30mbps. I have also tried fast.com and it shows an upload speed of between 15-30mbps. I have also tried the upload speed on various cloud storage platforms and it never exceeds 15mbps.

I sent railwire an email:

"The upload speed is 25mbps now. When I do a speed test with Railtel server only then I get 50mbps, with all other servers I get much lower."

and they replied:

Because Railtel is the ISP which provides data to you, yo need to select the Railtel server only.

ya it's the same for me too, but fortunately for some days at random (probably when there is not much load), I do get full upload speeds everywhere, or it just touches 6 - 7 MBps (I have the 50 Mbps plan as well) and it drops and hovers around 4 - 5 MBps, it just is not consistent.

I don't think so unfortunately, mostly at afternoon everything goes crazy here, from speeds to pings, it's only after midnight it works as it is supposed to for me. And as for the upload speeds, if you are not getting full speed anywhere except their servers, there is not much you can do unfortunately, just gotta wait and hope that they fix it or gotta switch ISPs.

I'm gettiing 30 mbps on a 100mbps plan lmao. BSNL seems to be getting agressive in my area offering 100 mbps with 500 gb limit which in more than enough for my use and I'm really tempted to get it.

Trust me guys I have taken a BSNL broadband connection and believe me the speed is super awesome and its just like butter. PING I am getting 12ms to 18ms constantly on all Indian servers and on a 60 Mbps plan I am getting speed upto 70 Mbps upload and download on speedtest as well as FAST.com

Purely based on my and others' experience:
Railwire is not going to entertain any complaint. You can try and bang your head against a wall.

They follow this escalation matrix LCO -> MSP -> NOC.
Each and every complaint will go to your LCO, who will gradually become irritated with your complaints.

If you are lucky, your MSP will pick up your request. But after several follow-ups and wasting your months, If you do not stop complaining they will finally ask you to get your connection disconnected. As you have paid for extra installation but have used their service for few months, they would be no scope of refund. And in last you will switch to another operator and think, It's fine at least you have a fiber line lying in your home for the money you paid.
So, if you have another ISP there, switch to them. If you are a new customer, also ask for disconnection and refund asap.

They have a no refund policy at my area (or atleast when I took the connection), so that is bad. And I will have to stick with them because I have no other operator in my area, and they kinda are the best when it comes to pings (Among the choices in our city), for now atleast. I hope it changes and I hope to take up a local ISP ASAP.

I have some updates for all - due to Corona they are unable to install 10 GIG server post which the speed and ping related issues will come to an end. They told me that it will take a maximum of 15 days to rectify but to my knowledge it will take more than a months of time to get this done. Dont lose hope guys. Everything will get better in days to come.

But considering the amount of customers they are serving right now, will even 10 Gig be enough?

Thank you for update. Will this help Goa&Karnataka region??

BSNL is offering free installation without router for the 100mbps plan and I'm really tempted to get it. Fighting the urge to go for it. I don't trust government PSUs in this area Id rather wait for Airtel fiber which is starting to be available in nearby cities. I think I'll just wait for that. Hope they fix it though.

Packet loss today. This is unacceptable. If I want to play dota 2 or something onlne litreally my phone connection is way better. Railwire should be ashamed.

It works when it works, which server are you routed through? In my place atleast, we are routed through Hyderabad, when it works we get pretty great ping/latency to almost everywhere, with no packet loss.

^ Kolkata. Yeah I've heard its better on the other Railwire servers I guess the Railwire Kolkata guys don't know what they are doing. Kolkata seems to be the worst server. The ping is okay but the packet loss makes it unfeasible to game. Whoever is in charge of the Kolkata server is doing a shit job.
