it's still not fully online though for some reason.

To avail this facility, customers can click on the ‘Metro Recharge’ option under Amazon Pay tab and follow some simple, intuitive steps. After entering their metro card number, they can choose any amount between INR 100 - INR 2,000 to recharge their card. After successful payment, they need to tap the card at the automatic vending machine (AVM) at any Delhi Metro station and select “Top-Up” to add the balance to their card.

Even with Paytm we need to go to AVM for toping up the card.

Delhi metro has a complete online recharge card and you can also convert your normal smart card to auto recharge type. When you tap your card at ticket gate balance will be updated.

But problem is it requires a bank acc/card/upi NACH e-mandate, whenever balance goes below 200 auto debit will happen. There is no easy way to block the card or mandate, if lost anyone can use it till you can get it blocked from email support which requires a police complain report and takes 3-4 days could be more. If mandate fails fines are high as per NACH standard. There is extra 1% fee though right now you get additional 5% discount.
