LG Electronics May Close Down Mobile Phone Business

LG Electronics Inc. may shutter its mobile communication business rather than sell it, DongA Ilbo reports, citing an unidentified person in the electronics industry.
Negotiations with Germany’s Volkswagen AG and Vietnam’s Vingroup JSC on possible sale of the smartphone business seemed to have failed, according to the report.

End of an era. I was seriously considering LG Mobile, particularly Optimus 2 (or 3) in 2011/12. But I went for Samsung Omnia W (Windows Phone). I never owned LG mobile though.
 
LG is not the outstanding manufacturer in terms of mobile phones since forever.
