On the contrary, it is very likely if all of them increase rates then customers will shell out more money given how he/she is now spoilt with cheap data.
Frankly, I am of the opinion that there should be different speeds for different plans, just like what we have for wifi. You get the speeds what you subscribe for and use the profits in improving the infrastructure.
It's another case in India that those profits go into pockets rather than on infrastructure building and improving user experience.

Truly unlimited is not feasible simply because as soon as it is offered there will be a small number of people who will abuse it and choke the network for the rest of the users.
Some what true. Spectra tried unlimited and switched back to limited due to unknown reasons. My guess is higher consumption than anticipated. 😁

I would like to add one Point on ACT Fibernet we use to get 0.5/1Mbps more than promised speed now they are providing 2/6Mbps loer speeds than promised
I noticed this change after there hike in pricing (JUN2020)
which means they are going the Jiofiber way
I hope ISPS do not follow Jiofiber in terms of speed quality

^ Doesn't Airtel have a family postpaid SIM plan for 999 and 200 Mbps fiber for 999 - isn't that effectively the same thing?
not for 999 its for 1499 if its for 999 then i must go for it two sims + broadband is really good

What I have noticed on JIO fiber that if you do a speed test it will show 5% less speed than your plan but when you actually download or upload something it will give you constant speed at 99-101A% of your plan. I have a 100 Mbps plan and get constant 98-101 Mbps while downloading something.

I can confirm the same on 30 MBpS plan I get 3.5 MBPS while downloading constantly

I think there can be another 8% cut in Tariffs or increment in Speeds/data.

New judgments are against this move

Hope they will reduce prices in near future airtel prices are very expensive from 100mbps plans

First of all, I have experienced truly unlimited broadband in France that included landline and mobile sim. The landline and sim could dial 110 countries landline with unlimited access. Here, in Mumbai, I have one TATA FTTH which provides 2.5TB FUP with landline (unlimited call to landline and mobile) for around Rs. 800 and one MTNL FTTH which provided 220 GB FUP for RS. 800 with 200 landline call. Definitely, I experienced worst service by MTNL where, incoming landline calls are not always successful besides random disconnection after say 10-15 seconds. I am surprised why this MTNL is not made private as the scoundrel management could not fix the issue for months.

I do not think unlimited access will raise abuse. Anyhighly controlled system gives abuse and corruption. You can use knife for surgery to give life to a patient while you may also murder a person with the same thing. That does not mean knife will be sold to few individual. If access is given and proper publicity about use and abuse is spread by media, everything will become normal. We think about control because of 900 years of slavery. However, it is better to consider 5G for better bandwidth with IPV6. We need more businessmen like Ambany scattered over India for a balanced economic growth, we need businessmen to think about chip production. Controlling mob is medieval thought process which will take us backwards. Sorry for long lecture.

Current broadband scenario is like a dream for me. I started on 5 kbps shell account in 1996. Full internet access used to cost 200 Rs per hour (required STD call to Mumbai.. does anyone remember bom4.vsnl.net.in ? ).

Downloading a 2.7 GB file in a minute, WOW

That too with a downtime of just 38 minutes over last 30 days.
