Please suggest overall best router at Rs.4k. Main focus on performance than features/gimmicks. dont need parental control and such stuff.

can anyone explain whats the difference between A & C series of TP-Link devices ? its confusing as both look similar. Also is open wrt support something to take seriously ? does it have any significant benefits ?

but TP-Link seems to be providing best performance at given price .. do you have experience with both routers ? i can extend budget for Asus AC59U but is it worth the extra cost ? AC speeds on tplink for A7 itself is 1300 mbps whereas after paying 2k more in asus its still 867 mbps

Why not just invest in Tp Link Deco E4 twin systems and have better all round coverage. Never the less, TP link isn't that bad as people portray it. I have used both Netgear, Asus and Tp link and it is still the best VFM product and gains with other costlier routers aren't that substantial. It someone really really wants to invest in a Pro product, then look for 15K+ routers.

I just thought they are rebranded versions of each other to be sold through different channels. If the A7 is available cheaper you can get it. Openwrt is good if you want to do things like setup a router level VPN etc. otherwise there isn't much point

With deco speeds hover between 200-300 mbps and not more than that. E4 i guess is having 100mbps ethernet ports

The range of Asus is great, but their asusWRT software has lot of bugs especially in the 2.4GHz band, I use the RT-AC58U. the newer model AC59U only has an USB 2.0 port which is weird since it is an upgrade to the AC58U.

are there any websites for long term review of routers like say for 1 years/2 years of usage?

I'm looking for a good router as well. regarding the Asus ones, people have written in reviews that its slow to boot up. Im not sure whats the reality of it though. so I'm a little bit hesitant towards it.
