I am customer of Airtel broadband for the past about 10 years with copper wire running though a conduit from airtel outlet in the down floor to my computer in the first floor. airtel wanted to install xl stream now. But they want to make holes in the windows and bring optic fibre from their outlet to my computer. along the walls. I do not like any major constructional change in the building . Is it not possible for airtel to draw the optic fibre through the conduit keeping or not keeping existing copper wire.

The conduit`s copper wire can be replaced and Fiber optic can be run . But there is one catch. If there are 90 degree bends in conduit , it leads to a loss in the Optical signal. That is why Airtel may be insisting to run it via windows

If the conduit has sharp turns, the Airtel guys would be vary of the optical signal loss from those sharp turns. That is why they might be insisting to get the wire through other orifices
