Airtel Xstream Fiber (300Mbps)

My laptop supports only 100mbps ethernet bandwidth.

I want to use upto 1gig, is there anywag I can do it?

Does your laptop have USB c? You could get a usb c to gigabit ethernet adapter. Won't be full gigabit but can do much faster than 100 mbps

Sushubh, dude, I have problems with my ISP. Can you listen and help me out a little?

I have airtel broadband from past few months, likely 5 months, and I only had downtime twice when they had to repair the cables cut.

But, while listening to any song or while talking over discord, the song or voice breaks for 2-3 seconds. Looks like packet loss.

I today got jio fiber installed but, I am not having any such issues with jio fiber.

What do you think what the problem is? And my airtel is through LCO.

What is the plan speed on JioFiber ? I didnt get you. You said you got JioFiber installed and are not having any hiccups with Internet ?? What is the problem you are facing ??

150mbps on jio fiber, 200mbps on airtel fiber.

On airtel, I get around 220-230, and on jio I get around 140-144mbps.

Talking on Discord or listening to songs doesn't need such high bandwidth and it certainly shouldn't happen on ethernet even if it is 100Mbps.

Ping the router and see if there are packet drops. If there is, then something's wrong with either the router, the LAN cable or maybe even the LAN port of your system. You will have to check it one by one. If there are no packet drops to your router then something's wrong with the internet link itself and changing to external ethernet won't help. It needs to be fixed by the ISP.

Discord cannot have an issue like that if it is working fine on JioFiber . If you are okay with the router Jio has given you and the wireless performance , you can get the Airtel connection removed if there is no specific requirement . I dont see a need for two connections.

And I have seen Discord run fine on 10 Mbps ADSL line too. You should probably run a VPN on Airtel connection and check . Do note that this will add a little bit of latency to your stream

But people say airtel routing is better and blah blah blah. Also, airtel gives 15% more speed than it has promised to give. And nobody in my neighbourhood has airtel, but lots of jio, so more users can degrade the performance?

airtel directly and airtel through LCO can make a difference in the quality of internet?
