How to fix spacebar shortcut for custom search engine on Google Chrome?

chrome no longer initiate custom search using space. you have to press tab. i have no idea why they broke this feature now. makes no sense.

seems to have been made chrome flags which means they would disappear.

chrome://flags/#omnibox-suggestion-button-row
chrome://flags/#omnibox-keyword-search-button

disable these two while they exist!
