Ping to Kolkata server reduced by 2ms for me today
Current pings
Kolkata (RailTel) :- 7ms
Bhubaneswar (RailTel) :- 12ms

Current pings for railtel servers on my network
BBSR - 17 ms (getting full speed)
Kolkata - 11 ms (not showing full speed for me.. hovering around 15-16 Mbps)

Also still the ISP name is showing blank instead of raitel. And default server selected are some unknown ones (Bhusaval/Yavatmal was getting selected for me). Earlier by default the server showed railtel kolkata or hyderabad for past few weeks.

Those servers might have low ping. When I had a gaming IP, Railtel kolkata server wouldn't connect, so by default, other servers with similar ping(<10ms) were being selected and I had full speeds during tests.

nope they do not have the best pings, the best pings we get on are on Kolkata server.

I am facing a very weird issue today.

As soon as I start downloading a torrent, my internet goes extremely slow or stops working for all other devices even the laptop. The torrents keep running though. It's happening since morning.

that's weird that shouldn't happen, maybe check your network activity, not happening here btw.

also the ping is fluctuating between 6 to 7 ms in Kolkata server now.

@HC1337 So, ping to Mumbai servers are good? No issues while gaming?

Actually, RailWire had changed gateway for Chhattisgarh to Mumbai and the MSP told me it is temporary until some works in Odisha is completed (we have same MSP).

So, I guess we'll have same gateway after some days. 😟 So, gonna have same issues as well.

Changed back to Kolkata since 3 days now. And no, only the ping to RailTel Mumbai server was around 24 - 26, but all other servers didn't have direct routing so they were in the range of 40 - 45. The pings to Chennai and Singapore were quite good, 22 - 24 for Chennai and 50 - 55 for Singapore. Peering wasn't working anymore tho and NAT type was Moderate.

DNS problem has been solved and all websites are opening perfectly now. Only problem is that Railwire Peering is not working.

On 20mbps unlimited plan.
