Hello People,

I'm here to get some help regarding my gigabit plan.
Airtel provided me Nokia G-2425G-A router and I have 2 Google nest routers.
My Dell Precision has Intel Wireless-AC 9260 (rev 29).
Speed on 5.0 Ghz band is 400 Mbps and when connected through Ethernet (cat 6 cable), Speed is around 550-650 Mbps.
That ethernet connection is from the router Airtel provided and the port is on Route mode.
When I set a LAN port to bridge mode, My nest routers are not connecting to internet using PPPoE credentials.

I'm planning to buy TP-Link MC210CS Fiber Media Converter.
Will I be successful to get atleast 850 Mbps with the converter?
Will I be a able to connect with PPPoE credentials with my nest router?

Please guide me in this case.

Thank You.

Did you see what is the speed test results from Google home or Google wifi app itself?

For direct ppoe connection in Google router, bridge mode must be enabled by the airtel backend team.

Have you asked your LCO/provider if 1 Gbps is possible on your line. Due to the 2.5 Gb/s limitations of GPON. It could be saturated too. The chances are very less , but it is better to make sure before you switch the plan.
LCO give connections with the thought that hardly anyone will choose for a 1 Gbps plan and give multiple connections in that. So that will be quite surprising for them

This happened recently when a friend went to get BSNL 300 Mbps plan and his LCO was quite surprised

Testing is done thru speedtest.net and it's almost the same on my Home app.
(I'm using a OnePlus 7 Pro)

Thanks for the reply, I'll check out with the engineer who was assigned to me for configuration of a static IP.
When I asked for bridge connection, They said it's possible with Static IP, So I opted for it.

Hi, Thanks for the reply,
I did ask the Airtel people before opting for the plan and everything was feasible.
The problem is with the router I assume.

This person is getting Gigabit on wire with same router. I think something is up with airtel
Thanks for the reply,
Yes, There is a problem with the router.
Like, I'm not expecting 1Gbps perfect, But atleast 850 Mbps on ethernet, Even that is not possible by that Nokia router.

@vrk All Airtel users get uncapped speed on speed test with Airtel Broadband Noida server. (- At least here in North states.) Try doing speedtest with that server.
@rohancyberdude gets 731Mbps Down, 891Mbps UP in his 40Mbps plan. Here is the post where he has shared his speed test result.

I believe he has the same Nokia router you have.

Speedtest with Noida Airtel BB - Ping: 86, Up 173.82, Down 67.10.
And, I'm in Hyderabad.

+1 info to main post.

The speed increases in the night, and decreases in day time.
@ 2:00 AM - 720 down
@ 2:00 PM - 540 down
Over ethernet connection.

Can this speed issue be rectified by AIrtel?
