If you can afford that then go for the
C80.
There are two ways of setting up the
router:
1. Double NAT: Connecting LAN Port of
ONT (
Huawei) to WAN of router. This is simple and requires no setup. You can use DHCP option on your C80 and itll simply get the IP from Huawei. However, the problem is port forwarding will be tougher as you have to forward ports both on the Huawei and new Router. Performance could also be affected due to extra layer of NAT.
2. Bridge Mode: You could put Huawei in bridge mode and let new router handle routing, pppoe and everything. Should be better as
TP-Link router has more powerful CPU. Also, extra NAT layer will be avoided. But this does require more configuration.
