I got banned!
@Sushubh Happened to me on two occasions with ICICI Bank gift cards. When I rang up the ICICI bank help desk I was told they had disabled the cards as a safety feature. Strangely they forgot to tell me that.
I have only seen this with SBI where you could generate a virtual card online from netbanking with a fixed balance in it. I think it allowed deletion and regeneration as well but not sure. This was a long time ago though@manu1991 I think they cannot be disposed and generated like that while linked to a bank acc . I have never seen any bank do that . If anyone has used it , do tell which bank issues it
most banks do have gift cards but but last time i bought one... it basically failed on any online store i tried.
Kotak mahindra net banking too has this feature. But the one and only time I tried using it to pay my internet bill it didnt work.I have only seen this with SBI where you could generate a virtual card online from netbanking with a fixed balance in it. Hdfc provides that option for master visa. I have tried with credit card only not sure about debit.Do any banks in india support generating virtual one time cards that get destroyed and regenerated after every transaction? That's what I always use on AliExpress
Virtual cards can be identified based on the starting 4 digits so can be easily disallowed for offers. Here people will start using it to get free trials . Eventually they will have to close it . The amount of debit card numbers they will have to issue by Visa and Maestro will be massive
