There are a total of 7 Indian pharma companies they have tie up with. I think they are already exporting so, its matter of getting the freaking approval which covaxin did not need.

I never understood the point of having bridging trials. Countries like US, UK etc. literally have thousands of Indians living there that have received the vaccine. If it's safe for them, then it should be safe for Indians in India as well. What is the point of doing a small study on a few thousand people to establish the same thing.

AZ not acting in SA was shown up because of a full scale trial not a bridging trial. A bridging trial would have just shown that it's safe, a full trial would show it's not efficacious on that variant. Not sure what that guy is implying.

"The vaccine would be imported from Russia for emergency use in the country, they said."

Why is it being imported from Russia?

news reports also say that reddy would also be supplying so i assume for the time being import would compensate for the no-shortage-of-vaccines.

Hopefully they can earmark this one for private sector/18-45 age group instead of putting in their own supply chain which is anyways struggling.
