Saw in the news tonight that J & J has been given the green light. Not sure if that channel has jumped the gun.

BTW: Not sure how much is politics & how much is institutional incompetence?🤔

We cannot be sure about anything at this point. No one was expecting second wave to be this fierce. Vaccination drive is turning out to be a challenge, and it will take a significant amount of time even after getting inoculated to be ready to face the devil. Things are pretty messed up.

J&J has been given green light to do the bridging study. Still a long way before its approved. I read now the EU regulators are investigating J&J and blood clot links.

In normal circumstances there is no need for such vaccine production capacity, building such lvl of capacity is not easy and requires a lot of money.

Approving more vaccines and more production facility would make sense and most likely would have been done already if there was no issue.

I am sure many people would be willing to pay high prices which could reduce some stress cheap vaccines.

Not trying to freak anyone out, but a friend who's QUITE young has developed blood clots after being infected.

This is some serious shit we're in the middle of.

Was he infected after vaccinated or direct infection ? Asking because there is around 25-30% chances of blood clots if you have severe covid.

@Smh Yes. Of course. India's population is 130+ crores. Why do we need powerful vaccination manufacturing capacity? We have already exported more vaccines than we kept for ourselves which was a great thing. Let's just pretend there is no vaccine shortage while people are being turned away while we have a PM who won't approve any other vaccine candidate because of nationalism.

It's more important to save money and charge people exorbitant money for it rather than make more vaccine .

There are many side effects of this disease, all scary as no one knows the long term effect except In some cases it's fatal. That's why I cringe when friends & neighbors go around with callous disregard for themselves, their families & neighborhood in general. 🤦

@Navjot Singh we need hospital, school, colleges , jobs and 1000 other things for 130cr people but can we afford it?

We have a fairly powerful capacity to produce vaccines but it was not prepared for a pandemic no health care facility in world was prepared for it.

If we're not lucky and more people required ventilators, icu do you have think we should have a massive production capacity for making those devices too.

Yes we should have covered our needs first before exporting but still that amount of vaccine was not enough, SII can produce 60-65 million doses per month and we need to inoculate more people than that.

Isn't covisheild made by Oxford AstraZeneca a non-national vaccine?

Vaccines are available for free in govt center. Who is making exorbitant money?

Lastly mask, social distancing is also very important do anyone cares? If people don't care for their own life no govt can do anything.

Our country has 130+cr people who cannot just stop using their mask as a necklace. Why people cannot use their own brain and avoid going to any social, religious gatherings?

Agree 100% our own carelessness & haste in getting back to the old normal has caused this current situation. Also no one has stood up & told people v bluntly that they should forget their old normals and get used to the current Lifestyle. (Atleast for the time being which could be a longtime)
