I tried using JIO OTT apps without set top box but it does not work. What I have learnt is, you need to use set top box only once (after you recharge) and then you can use your android tv for using JIO OTT apps. You will have to do this once every month(after recharge).
If you want to avoid doing this step, go for a 6 month or annual plan. You will have do this step only once in a year then...

Yes, they are giving false info to get connections. They told me that I can use ott apps without settop box. When I called them , they denied for ott apps. Also there is to much fluctuation in internet speed. Pathetic performance . Plz don't go by their words and adds and get the feedback before buying

Except Alt Balaji, all others are working fine for me as long as you login with the registered mobile number.

@sayangr Yes. It's working fine on my android tv and Android phone. Only thing you need to do is open all the subscribed apps once on jio stb so that the apps detect the subscription. After that, it's working on any device as long as you login with the registered mobile number. I couldn't make lionsgate and altbalaji to work outside jiostb though.

I wonder why such a system. Do they really want to track what sort of movies/TV shows/news & entertainment channels we like to consume as well?

installing the android package manually by yourself, ie not from the official app store provided by the OS itself but downloaded off the internet or making one yourself.

Does it work the same with BSNL Broadband plans?

Also, does the apps require to be on Jio Fibernet Internet?
