Anyone from Maharashtra & Goa or Kolkata circles received Wifi Calling on Vi? They have launched VoWifi in these 2 circles from today. iPhones will be the first to support and we might have to resort to installing logkit on OnePlus phones to force enable.

Vi WiFi calling service is available to all Vi prepaid and postpaid customers in Maharashtra & Goa, Kolkata, UPW, Punjab, Gujarat, Rajasthan, UP East, Rest of Bengal, Delhi and Mumbai.

Just checked on my Redmi Note 8 Pro. It does have an option of VoWiFi when I insert a Vi SIM but VoWiFi itself is not live yet. Tried multiple Vi SIMs just to be sure.

If they can get their software and optimisation right especially with different ISPs , it will surely benefit Vil users. Have vowifi on Airtel and face lot of voice drops when active. Have disabled it.

That means testing is started & hopefully in 1-2months would be active in all circle.
As it is optimization only once the vowifi software/support package is purchased by operator.
Prepaid coz they don't want to test on postpaid customers. Remember Vi take postpaid very seriously.
Anyday you'll experience better support from Vi postpaid than Airtel postpaid.

Have been their Postpaid subscriber since years now. Here's the network status at my home. Has been like this for a year and a half now. Multiple complaints done with no results. They don't give a damn about Postpaid subscribers. Porting a corporate connection is a pain otherwise I would have done it.

@Nishant porting COCP nowadays is not that difficult, I have shifted all my COCP to Airtel. Its just that they require all documents which need to given and couple letter heads formats which they give. Its difference case if the number is give by your employee and they don't want to port.

I'll be writing soon my detailed process and all tips and tricks to get cheaper COCP plans on Airtel.

Reason: I ported due to lack of corporate support (once they wrote in email reply that this Vi COCP account does not exist, despite the bill getting generated with wrong GST number), poor network quality, Airtel COCP gave me more benefit for cheaper price then what I used to get for Vi.

Note: Airtel is now more interested in COCP customer since 2018. When we bought our COCP only two companies where given COCP that were Idea cellular & Vodafone India back then in 2007.
Back then Airtel din't have any COCP, even 2012 I once enquired but they were least interested to help me. But recently I ported all Vi COCP to Airtel COCP and trust me they keeping eye especially on Vi customers since Vi have largest COCP base.

Does VI SIM needs to be in Sim1 slot or Sim2 for VoWiFi?

My Vi (actually Idea) SIM is in Sim2 slot. It does not have any data plan. It is displaying VoLTE symbol, but not VoWiFi symbol (on Samsung Galaxy S20+)
My Jio sim in Sim1 slot is displaying VoWifi symbol after I enabled WiFi calling.
(VoWiFi for Jio worked directly on my Samsung A8+ without needing any special update for handset, I guess it should be working on S20+ as well).

If you are not seeing the option to turn on WiFi calling for the Idea SIM then the phone probably needs a firmware update to enable support and the operator should also whitelist your phone model number for VoWiFi support. Only then it would work.

My Redmi Note 8 Pro did show the toggle option for WiFi calling when I had inserted a Vi SIM.

Right. Vi too. My existing Vi SIM doesn't support VoLTE. If in the same phone I insert another Vi SIM, VOLTE works.
