RCS on Samsung Messages SMS App in India?

i am quite happy with google's sms app. but this is nice. most people tend to use the sms app that came with their phones. getting them to switch to messages to enable rcs is not always helpful. i hope mi and other chinese players would also add support though seems unlikely. is mi switching to google messages app as default sms app in newer devices? i remember reading something about this.

I can confirm that two Poco devices, X3 and M2 have Google messages and Google dialer as default app.
For Realme, it's same. New phones come with Google apps.
Can't comment on Redmi or other devices. Seems like the deal is only for the newly and henceforth launched devices. Older phones would still have Mi dialer and msgs app.

I had bought a Redmi 9 Prime recently, which was launched in August 2020. It came with Xiaomi Dialer and Messaging app.

My J7 2016 got its support back in 2017. It seems to work only with Jio. And yes, it is enabled by default if your phone and operator supports it.

i have rcs on samsung messages app now and i am able to communicate with nishant who has google messages.
samsung's app however does not show any indication whether your message is being sent through rcs or not. editor remains same for both rcs and sms. there is a chat option that appears in message context menu. but nothing in editor or message screen.
