I brought it back in July from AliExpress (though AliExpress don't ship to India anymore):

PFSense has many features such as:
1. Advanced firewall rules.
2. Multi WAN Support with Failover/Load Balancing
3. Suricata IDS/IPS
4. Traffic Inspection tools such as NTop
5. DNS and IP Blockers such as PFBlocker NG
6. OpenVPN Support for network wide VPN
7. Policy based routing so you can route specific devices through different gateways.

It is basically a full computer running a router/firewall software. You can even run Windows on it if you want to and run it as a normal computer.

Yep I managed to finally fix that.
Can you share what you added/created config wise? I will try to replicate it for OpenWRT.

I think this is Excitel's doing something with config. These ONTs are have ZTE Branded chips inside.

Did you try resetting the ONT? I think I did that before accessing 192.168.1.1

So I opened up my Excitel ONU and also a DBC ONU I had:
Left one is DBC and right one is Excitel

Both have exact same board layout and exact chip model ZTE ZX279125

Now the Excitel CC is spitting shit that ₹750 ONU is just a convertor and it doesn't get any IP assigned hence one cannot login.
How do I proceed now?

You could try asking the LCO. I doubt he knows much about it but still worth a try.

You could also ask if you can use an ONT you have if they can't get you t o access the WebUI

maybe contact optilink direct and ask them?

its either 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1

how can it be any different? ¯\(ツ)

and lcos configure onu's right? with users pppoe username and password. to do this they must access the gateway page. so i think they would know the address

If nothing works, and you have access to a Linux machine, I would suggest writing a script to go through the 192.168.x.x range and see which one works. Shouldn't take long.
