So what exactly are the issues with the wireless router provided by the company? Just trying to collect all the issues in this post.

One problem is the public www.excitel.com ssid that one member here claimed gave him access to his neighbor's router.
Is bridging possible?
Can wi-fi functionality be disabled?
What other features are disabled/blocked/hidden in the router?

1. Ideally bridging should be possible by cloning mac of ur onu but i was unsuccessful when i tried bridging. Someone else should also try and report here, may be i was doing something wrong. Although when i got dumb onu, i was able to bridge the same wifi onu as mac binding is not on dumb onu. They should disable mac binding on 2k devices so that we can use bridging easily.
2. Wifi can be disabled and even member here reported they have successfully disabled www.excitel.com ssid.
3. I had the gx onu and range was low compared to c6 and it used to heat upto 55 ℃ and more. I feel the wifi onu will definitely have issues in summer

forgot the ask the obvious question lol. is the 750 onu gigabit capable? excitel website does not even mention this device anymore from the looks of it.

Excitel gave me Syrotech single band wifi router as onu only devices (rs 750) are out of stock they say.

1) Bridge mode can be enabled - (Disabled by default)
2) Wifi can be disabled if you want to get rid of that www.excitel.com ssid.

₹750 ONU won't be available anymore. They are providing Dual Band ₹2000 ONU which has telephone port as well .As they aim to launch calling facility along the lines of Airtel/Jio/BSNL in future : Area Manager of Excitel told me

We don't mind paying 2k if bridge mode can work on 2k devices afaik bridge mode don't work on 2k devices, those who have 2k device can check and confirm. It didn't work when i tried

I have a wifi router connected in AP Mode with Excitel provided router (ONU) as an Access point. The AP keeps disconnecting every couple of days and the ethernet cable has to be reconnected to get the connection back. Don't know if its a cable issue or the ONU.

There are basically 2 types of devices provided by Excitel

1G ONU - it works in bridge mode, customer needs to use their own WiFi Router. Recommended if Customer has a higher grade router, or specific router requirements (like Mesh setup, etc)
ONU with inbuilt AC WiFi Router (Dual Band Router) - it supports up to 300 Mbps (real life) speeds over WiFi on 5 Ghz. It should be working well for most of the customers. It cannot work in Bridge Mode (if someone wants to use it in Bridge mode - better downgrade to 1G ONU).
