How safe are Indian cars?

Yes it's been since 3-4 years at least. Gadkari brought it. I remember Maruti was cribbing when that happened.
 
so eeco alto etc all have airbags on driver's seat? that's nice.
 
Yeap. Although not sure how useful they are when the structure of the car itself is unstable
 
and now car makers have just one month to sell their stock of cars with one airbag in front? cool.
 
at least this is not a situation where tata would do the same as suzuki with their next variant. so maruti would find it hard to fight back.
 
Just realised. August 2021 is ending. Never heard any news about complying with the airbags notification. It's supposed to become mandatory for all existing cars?
