Hi,
My BSNL ftth connection was setup yesterday. I picked up a Digisol DG-GR6010 ONT and can connect via the Ethernet port. However I am unable to figure out how to connect my Mi 3C router to the modem. The BSNL tech guy says, it is not possible because the Mi 3C router does not have VLAN and a router with VLAN settings is required. Can one of you confirm the same. I have tried switching off DHCP in the router settings but could not make it work.

Also I am reading the ONT / router has to be in bridge mode. Buy my modem setting only allows for Route, there is no other option and same with the router settings

Thanks

A funny thing has happened. I was reading through the forum and stumbled upon similar request but with another brand router. The suggestion was to select a static ip in the router settings. So I tried and it has worked 🙂 I am able to connect my laptop to Mi 3C router.
However other than the laptop where I updated the settings, no other device in my house is connecting to the router 🙂, can someone help here please.

Regards,

I did not have to, the way I understand I have mirrored the MAC and other credentials of the modem in the static ip router settings. Keep the dhcp enabled and it works like a regular wifi router.

Needless to say the VLAN credentials are only input in the modem settings.

If router is getting configured as static up or even dynamic ip (preferred) does not need any PPPoE settings in router, it will connect to modem via Ethernet.

Nope, just the modem. Only mirror the required static ip settings from the modem in the router. I have same mac address aswell, I was trying a.whole lot of things.

I tried configuring the dynamic IP when pppoe wasn't working. However I couldn't connect. Static ip on account of being the last alternative worked.

Hi,

I have recently picked up a Netgear GS308 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Network Switch, to expand my ethernet ports.

When I connect the modem in port 1 and the wifi router in port 2, the wifi works properly. However when I add another ethernet jack in any of the remaining ports the indicator lights on the Netgear network switch are blinking green to indicate the ethernet connection is made, even the laptop confirms existence of ethernet connection, however there is no internet, no ip address is displayed either

Currently I have the same settings on my wifi router as given in the post above

Can you please advice ?
