Today, I went to telephone exchange to submit application for FTTH. BSNL babu declined the application citing that optic fibers are still not implemented at my location which is at the center of the city and just 1.5 Kms from the telephone exchange which is a 5 storied huge building. This is the pathetic plight of BSNL. Even I asked for resolution of the complaint that I raised since 5 days for Noise in my landline and they just said that they don't have staff. Very shameful indeed.
Also, I enquired for the disconnection of Broadband. BSNL babus without any second thought were happy to help in this matter. They didn't even ask why am I disconnecting. Otherwise, the private players would try to retain the customer by somehow convincing, but in case of BSNL its totally opposite. BSNL the white elephant has become terrible!!!!

@besharam_BSNL Are no other providers available in your area? Act or Airtel or atleast through some local cable operator?

Guys this plan looks good to me. Now I am in doubt to go for bsnl or not. The lco guy was asking for 6.2k for installation and that sucks. Bsnl exchange employs suck they aren't even fixing my noisy ADSL line from 3 months straight... Don't know whether lco guy will be any different :/

@Danish880 LCO has given any breakup, normally installation charges are collected in bill, how much is he charging you for the modem?

Ok changed the plan through self care portal to Fiber Basic Plus. Got a SMS confirmation which said it will take around 2-3 days. Let's see if they actually change it or try to pull that scam that they are doing when I visited their office saying it's not for old users in Odisha. 😆

No I didn't asked him directly but my friend told me that he paid 6.2k and the lco guy installed him some cheap looking optronix ont which hardly costs 2.5k and pretended that it is very expensive ont so he is charging this much...

Oh.. at last.. They said that there were some issues regarding my FTTH's plan change, but the person I talked to yesterday was unsure about the exact issue. Now the FUP and bandwidth increased, and the charge decreased from 849+tax to 599+tax, so the savings is around ₹300/month.. 😍😍😍

I have the same ONT but black colour and rebranded as Alphion ONT-1143. I asked my BSNL guys and they told it maybe around 1800-2000. It will be the retail price which they tell . You can always get hold of the supplier with some effort and maybe get it at wholesale prices like 1600-1700 or even a little less
