@besharam_BSNL
If you have Airtel or Jio Fiber switch to them(much cheaper installation cost ).
If not..BSNL FTTH is much much better than BSNL Broadband (using decade old copper lines, lot of noise, frequently disconnections and unstable internet...). FTTH is much much better..and don't expect any sort of customer service from BSNL.
ACT is good as far as I known
Thanks for your reply. I had connected Airtel Fibernet Xstream 15 days back. They promised my that I will get Fiber Optic connection and speed of 40 Mbps for Rs. 499 plan. But they doomed me by connecting same old copper cable and same adsl modem. After connection I was getting only 5-6 Mbps speed. Pathetic!! I raised a complaint and they said that I will get only that much speed for my locality. Raised a complaint and disconnected it.
Sadly, JIO is not available for my location. I requested many times in their portal but nobody turned up.

As far as BSNL is concerned, I have raised many complaints and resolution is very bad. Even for Landline, they are not able to resolve it. They treat customers like dog. If any line man comes for service, we have to warm their hands else they won't turn up.
Now I am thinking if I upgrade to BSNL FTTH, wondering how the service will be, though the speed will be good, but providing resolution is a matter of concern. Heard they have outsourced the connection. The permanent employees of BSNL themselves are not working up to the mark and how can we expect from the vendors. Keeping my fingers crossed on ACT.

Thanks,

If you are happy with the FUP ACT offers , then you can go with them . But I would say BSNL is worth it for the VFM plans . Sometimes BSNL main routing gets messed up but BSNL Fiber is much better than ADSL , so connectivity at last mile wont be a problem for you cable-wise. Initially you have to deal with LCO .

How is the ping in bsnl.?
From the screenshots posted by forum members, its does not look good.
However how is the real time performance when it comes to zoom call, live tv , YouTube playbacks.
How is the response while trying to stream content like above?

Netflix ,Youtube and Prime Video work flawlessly . Zoom is also good . But once in a month I notice disconnects on Zoom . Live TV works good . I have tried Jio TV . Pings are decent not the best . Sometimes ping drops are faced
. Ping is something which you should ask your nearby users as it varies very much geographically

I can see your location is Kolkata , ping should be good with BSNL I think as they have a NOC there

Thanks, @shashankb .

I am still rolling dice. I could see BSNL has plan for more GBs than ACT for same price. Let me know what is CUL in 600 GB CUL plan. In the long run I expecting BSNL to be better.
My FTTH is on the 600GB CUL plan and it's over ₹1000 per month including tax. I'm planning to switch to the Fiber Basic Plus plan so that I can save around 300 per month, also because of the tiny bit increased bandwidth and 3.3TB limit. I've already requested for the plan change via self-care but they cancelled my application and said that I've to go directly to the office. But I belong to the very high risk category of COVID-19 so I can't go to the office. Also I'm unable to to reach then via phone since last couple of days. Don't know what's the issue. Anyways I'm still trying..

Anyone from Bhubaneswar/Odisha using 599 Fiber Basic Plan yet? It shows up on the site, but the local office is not changing our plan to that from the existing 849 plan saying it's only for new customers. 🤦‍♂️

Is there any way to change the plan through internet or calling them without going to the office? I think they are knowingly denying that in order to get Rs 300 more while giving less speed and data.

Try changing in selfcare portal, most users reported here of almost immediate plan change after placing request over selfcare portal.

Im from rourkela, local peeps saying that plans not available.
But try from selfcare, mine got changed instantly.

How to access the selfcare btw? Is it the same website that is used to pay bills?

Last time I went to my nearby BSNL office, no one was wearing masks. Yet they are doing their best to not let people change to the newer plans. 🤣

Today I contacted my Local BSNL office and requested them to change my current, BBO annual cs315 12mbps plan to new fiber basic plus plan, but they refused stating that you have business plan which can not be shifted to normal plan.
Can someone guide me regarding plan cancelation policy of BSNL? I renewed my annual plan in September and want to know what will happen to my remaining 8 months money if i cancelled my current plan? Will I get cheque for the advance payment i have done for the plan?

What is your selfcare showing . What is the location you are using it in ? Home or Office. If you self care shows residential , then they have to change it
I think the refund depends on whether the connection is via LCO or direct
