I recently upgraded to the new 300mbps plan, but the best speed I have seen is 112 up/down with my laptop right up against the router. I suspect that the ONT+router thing that BSNL provides [1] can't do any better than that. The best link speeds I have seen are 144mbps.

So, I'm looking to get something more decent from TP-Link [2]. Now, lurking around in the forums here, I think this should work. The ONT has a gigabit port so I can just hook up my new router to the ONT's ethernet port and disable its builtin wifi. Did anyone experience any problems with that? or are there things that I'm not considering (like things at LOC's end)?

I unfortunately can't use the Ethernet directly unless I get a USB-c dongle and run ~10m of cable from one room to another, so I'm trying to avoid that.

Thanks, A7 looks interesting and has a USB port which makes me think if I can use A7 as a cheap NAS solution (for lightweight streaming).
