Hello Everyone,
Vi is been offering unlimited data on its 699 postpaid plan, i read on the t&c that 50 mins of voice calling per month is mandatory else the user will be considered as a commercial user and will be migrated to a limited plan. The thing i want to know is that diverted calls are also counted? . since the 50 min limit also counts incoming calls, so that i could divert the calls of the Vi sim card to a different number. I plan to use this sim card in an outdoor modem and voice calling is not supported and i have to remove the simcard every month which is installed in a modem mounted on a 10 metre pole and make a 50 minute call. Anyone have tried this and any alternatives and suggestions would be very helpful.

I have not actually used it but I don't think diverted calls would be considered in that 50 mins. If I am not wrong, Diverted calls are calls which do not connect to the dialed number. So nopes I don't think diverting call is yours solution.
May be you can try connecting a landline to your 4G router. It's achievable but am not sure about how to do it. For that Google is your friend.

You cannot do that on the existing modem you are having very easily . It will involve custom firmware and lots of other things .

TP-Link is a indoor router so I am not sure this will suit you but their 3G/4G routers have a app made for that specially . You use the sim in the router of TP link and then it allows you call through their app via the sim

Unless the outdoor modem you are using gives a gateway/webpage/interface to call , it will be very difficult to make it work on your own

Thanks for your replies, But unfortunately, my modem neither have an app for calling nor supports VoLTE like JioFi devices, so it seems i have to mannually do this every month or try using diverted calls for a month and see what happens.
I use a Mikrotik SXT LTE outdoor modem.

Yeah , I thought the same thing . VI is not very good with indoor coverage in some areas. But I was actually surprised seeing VI giving out Unlimited data on a Cellular network. I mean that will cost them some good money if users start increasing

Yes, you are absloutely right, if the number of users increase, they would just make the plan limited, but who knows....
but it is my only unlimited internet option right now since i live in a rural area...

They have 150GB limit but would enforce only when required.

@igloo They don't have any such limit as of now. If you read the terms and condition, Exceeding 150GB usage should have at least 50 mins of call duration, else that would be considered as Commercial usage and user will be charged appropriately.

He basically has a 999 unlimited plan . Vodafone bills him 6000Rs for one month .The sim issued by the company to him comes in the category of Platinum Sim card and they overcharged without informing in the beginning its a Platinum sim. I did not know Vodafone does classification of sim cards. It is just a fancy number issued to him I think.

Ohh, Thank you!!!
These classifications are very weird, even airtel charges me 500 to 1k extra as an one time charges, dont know what that mean....., this happened twice, then i happily migrated to prepaid!!!!
