Airtel offering 300 Mbps for 1099

My old plan was 799 Unlimited with 100 MBPS. They have been trying to reach me for a couple of days. Almost everyday I would get a call from +91 120-4898XXX, and somehow the call always disconnected. This time they offered me this plan and they were quite persuasive and wanted me to opt for this plan.

As expected this is way to upsell. Airtels target arpu is 1k+ for broadband.
Tariff update did hit their arpu as recent results stated. Previously they were doing this by selling next higher plan with unlimited data.

All their Copper customers (so called V-fiber) have downgraded to 499 plan from earlier 799 or 799+299 plans after recent plans. Thats 40-50% reduction in ARPU for VDSL customers. So they are trying to compensate by luring FTTH customers to higher plans.
