The Jio network of apps can control the modem, it can reset to a previous image, when I was binge watching, my network was frequently interrupted. These are some of the settings Jio Cinema bing watching did:
1. Stops playback by disconnecting devices
2. Resets modem security measures that are applied.
3. Does not allow the default user admin to be deleted or moved to guest with lesser privileges and replaced with another user with admin privilege.
I added a new admin user, changed admin password, and disabled all WIFI SSID broadcast.
After 30 min its reset back to old settings, the new admin user disappeared, and the old admin password is set, so there is an image of the
router settings somewhere that is applied back everytime. This is hijacking our network, safer to move away from Jio Fiber, given that they are trying to control every setting in our private network.
The reasons I choose Jio was
a) Decent speed without interruption.
b) Connect your drives to the router so you can have network fileshare (disabled)
c) Connect your
printer to the router for networked printing (disabled)
d) Uninterrupted service and no nosy
business of controlling my router remotely!
I don't think the earlier firmware was capable of resetting the image of the router, I want that version or I'm throwing out this company forever, already out of their mobile plan, cannot have companies that engage in nefarious activities.
