An update with the asianet routing . From today onwards i think asianet is directly connecting to aws servers in mumbai. as the traceroute to primevideo, etc and all goes directly to Mumbai via private Perring , earlier it was through airtel/tata as transit. Also latency to Facebook(including subsidiaries) has improved a lot earlier it was in the range of 35 to 45 ms now it has decreased to 19 to 20ms .tata transit is still there for less popular sites

Hmm, I dont think it is just my VPN speeds being low, speeds goes low when I access servers other than popular websites or even if I choose bangalore/singapore servers in speedtest. Cant just look at Netflix speeds. they have an open connect tie up with any applying ISPs to localize high traffic to stream at high speeds. I will get Airtel fiber when it is available and compare both. Satisfied with this because they didnt charge money to upgrade to fiber like they planned at unlock plans launch.

@Exxonzer0 I didn't change anything significant, if I remember correctly. My phone is OnePlus 8T.

PS: Can you send me the firmware link that you used? And after upgrading, what is your firmware version?

Genexis 4410 can support max speeds of upto 150mbps only. This is as per the product brochure on their website. No firmware upgrade can make it go beyond that.

To download the latest firmware to v1.33, please follow this link. This is uploaded by one user who got it from Asianet.

Do you know if we can access their routers webpage if using it in bridge mode? Have heard some isp routers let you access like that, otherwise I would have to reset it if I want to upgrade firmware. Not sure how to set it back up to normal if i reset without calling their customer care.

There is issues in my newly setup fiber connection, speeds drop the moment I try a server other than asianets in speedtest. even if it is in kochi itself. Only getting 20down/5up in bangalore servers. I tried bridge mode because of this, but no difference in speeds. latency is as expected. but my speeds were consistent in cable, after fiber it is very poor. Using with LAN.

Most sites have something similar to AWS Cloudfront to speed up downloads globally wherever a client access, so I get the full 125 mbps speeds down and up like that on those sites. but some sites I visit dont have that, speeds are very low. buffering when streaming in online course site. and this is before I connect any VPN. Was having no issues with 50mbps cable.
Their backend team checked my speedtests using teamviewer, said some issue is there but dont know what, said they will contact in few days

You cannot configure bridge mode without technical support help. Even if you put it in bridge mode, you can reach the webpage by routers local IP address.

With this firmware upgrade, there was no need to reset the router settings, all were present after it upgraded. Wait for 2-3 min and then try to access the webpage by opening another tab in browser. Reboot it once manually later.

They set up the bridge mode last week, cant access on 192.168.1.1 after that. only my router. Tried the default gateway shown on my router too

Hmm, bridge mode should make it faster. You are skipping a hop and all routing functions are being performed at the other end of the modem (ISP side)

Your router will have an IP address, you just have to find it. Whats your laptops IP address ? type ipconfig at command prompt and check.

Goto windows -> run-> cmd press enter

type "tracert yahoo.com" . You will see the IP from the hops.

Post the image here if you cant figure it out.

Other option would be to directly connect to it using a cable and disconnecting the fiber cable so that it cannot get an IP address from the ISP.

No I can connect to my router, I have been using same one for years. Think I have to connect to genexis router via lan to access in bridged mode.
tracert 1.105.92.111.asianet.co.in [111.92.105.1] is the second entry after my router (192.168.31.1)

Ip address is changed. You have to connect using 192.168.31.1, put this IP in browser and check. There should be no difference (Wifi/cable) as long as your router is providing the IP (DHCP enabled), which is in the subnet of 192.168.31.X now.

Once you are able to access, post the bridge settings, just want to check what have they done and if IPv6 is enabled for you.

192.168.31.1 is my personal router. I need to find the genexis routers ip, it was 192.168.1.1 before bridging. I dont think it has any ip now, I tried connecting to it via lan,

Cannot be, every device will have an IP. Its just that it snot routing on private IP.

Change your laptop IP manually to 192.168.1.5 and connect directly to the Genexis FE port using LAN cable. Then use 192.168.1.1 in browser to access the page.

Excellent.

Can you share the complete page (or the IPv6 option area) for both screenshots, it has options below which got cut off. Also the Statu page->Net Info and IPv6 connection area. Just checking on the IPv6 if it got assigned to you.
