@Exxonzer0 nope they won't give u a dual band router by default unless, u take their separate dual band router option for 1200 plus tax. They will specifically tell u that u will get 40 mbps on wifi with their default router as they have told me so

I think u should buy separate wifi router for 2k or some thing , connect it as repeater mode as it has more perfomance over their wifi ont , also u have to return the router back to them upon disconnection

Hi,

Just wanted to know if this 200mbps is from the router they provided or do we have to upgrade with extra money. I am planning to take the 4 month 200mbps plan.

Also does the router they provide have dual band?

Thanks in advance.

200Mbps is from direct ethernet connection. I always got 150+ on WiFi. Nobody told me about the 80Mbps thing. I just checked again now and I am getting the following:

How is it possible... from what I know genexis 4410 is single band router right, so is it possible to get 150mbps speeds with it.. mine 4410 always gives me upto 70 to 80 mbps max,

I don't know. It only supports 2.4GHz, but the modem had "up to 300Mbps wireless connectivity" on it's box, if I remember correctly. The modem is in my room, if it helps.

I got everything setup today (200Mbps plan). I had to mail helpdesk to ask them to increase my speed (Initial LAN - 80Mbps to 200Mbps). Genexis 4410 (had to manually upgrade firmware) they provided gives 200Mbps via Gigabit port. But Wifi is so bad even 10cms from the router(images attached).

The router is located centrally and I am not able to pull a LAN cable to my room. I am planning to get Archer C6.
@agsbond Have you changed any configurations in your router to get 150+ on wifi?? Also which phone do you use?

Asianet pulled the fiber cable to my house 11 days ago, and then vanished without providing router. I contacted nodal officer today and he said few more days to finish node setup.
Few hours earlier, a Airtel guy has taken my location after I enquired fiber in my area last year. I wonder if asianet will charge me if I cancel now.
Cant jump without Airtel confirming if they have 200mbps + connection here.

@Lucifer96 @agsbond both of you have the 4410 router right?? They just gave me router today, I am getting 125 up and down as per plan only when I speed test to kochi servers> I was getting full speeds on cable even when my VPN is set to US locations with just ping. My vpn speeds are very low, even when doing non vpn speedtest with location outside india. Is it like that for you guys?
Will bridge mode change it? I didnt find a settings backup and restore section to play around with settings and see

@irongiant91 i don't have that issues . I have used both vypr, ipvanish, nord vpn, with asianet, I got 70 to 80 mbps speeds easily, with nord and ipvanish I got 100mbps which is my plan speed. Can u tell me which is the VPN you are using, some of the vpns have speed issues.

By the way you cannot bridge the modem with wifi router, as they use mac binding rather than ppoe, so you have to make them Whitelist your wiif router mac id with their olt.It can be done .

I initially had slow speeds to international servers when I took connection, but it was solved own its own with 1 week, now I get full speeds to all serves with and without vpn , by the way which is the transit they are using for your connection. For me they change the transit every 2 or 3 weeks, first will be airtel then they use tata for me.

Yeah the backend team wasn't available when technician tried call them to whitelist my router. Now I have to wait till tomorrow.
I'm using TorGuard VPN, I was getting only 10% speed cuts with cable connection. Now it's like 25-90% slower when I try servers further away. They only have one dedicated ip for streaming content, and that I've set it to West USA. It was only 20mbps when I checked yday. Also video steamed from a online course site is buffering when I set 2x speeds. Little annoying. Hope it goes away after bridging.

I don't know how to see transit part. This router web portal is so ugly to look at, I didn't go through it all. I switched off QoS to see if any difference, didn't notice big difference.

@irongiant91 Thats mainly that VPN issue I think try using another vpn if u can. Also u won't get noticeable benefits from bridging as it is in my case, I am using it in the app mode and still I couldn't find any differences in the perfomance or others speeds are same as it should be.

As for that transit u can trace route primevideo Hotstar etc and check, i think airtel transit is much better than tata
