since my home is near western ghats, hence whenever it rains heavily Jio signal gets affected. Usually I get -65 dBm best to -77 dBm worst on band 40. But during heavy rain I don't get proper signal, with -124 dBm I can't even call or send messages.

Also interesting point to note is that I do get band 3 and band 5 during normal weather, but Band 3 and Band 5 aren't available during heavy rains, only band 40 with very weak or no signal available.

I even confirmed with couple of my friends, even they notices this every-time during heavy rains.
I think Jio shutdowns all cell sites. idk why they do so. Anyone know the reason for this cheap practice?

My Airtel and Vi seems to work fine. Its only Jio doing this in western ghats.

Does anyone face similar issue?

It is possible that the tower nearby goes down at the time of heavy rain for whatever reason and you get signal from a different tower.

This is interesting, from some googling bands under 2ghz won't have issues. But bands 3 and 5 are under 2ghz anyway. Band 40 is over 2ghz.

bands under 2ghz won't have issues

Maybe I've read this the other way around.

Its still raining, Now in morning from 6 AM V! network gave up. I don't get 4G, only getting 3G and 2G that too only calling.

Jio network got restored today morning when rain got light.
Airtel is rock solid even in heavy rains.
